ABSTRACT

Loyalty towards digital health services has received unprecedented attention and acceptance during the Covid-19 pandemic period. However, whether this popularity will be retained into the future and the factors that can influence such loyalty is undetermined. This paper provides insight into this issue through a cross-cultural examination of the influence of digital service quality (e-quality) on consumer satisfaction and loyalty (e-loyalty) in the digital health service sector during a pandemic. A fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) is applied using a sample of 50 customers drawn from different professions across different countries who actively showed loyalty towards digital health during the pandemic. Research constructs evaluation for reliability and internal consistency was subsequently performed using Cronbach's alpha and Correlation analysis. The results reveal a significant positive relationship between service quality and the twin outcomes of consumer satisfaction and loyalty, while the findings established satisfaction as a prominent mediator for digital health. Findings from the fsQCA analysis identified four core factors that underpin loyalty in digital health platforms. Alternative paths have been identified based on gender, current education status, and other professions. In addition, two topologies are introduced taking digital health services from different platforms during the pandemic. Because of the primary nature of the data, this is first-hand experience gathered from the people who are directly or indirectly involved in receiving help from digital health services in a pandemic context. The application of the fsQCA technique for examining loyalty towards digital health services is applied in the e-health or digital health literature for the first time. The study findings will assist digital health service providers seeking insight into the factors that influence loyalty of e-health service consumers, enabling them to focus more accurately on the service quality dimensions that are effective in influencing consumer satisfaction and retention. The findings of this study contain a number of contributions, illustrating different topologies towards digital health that provide educators and policymakers with valuable insights.

ABSTRACT

Due to the poor instruction process during the Covid-19 Pandemic, especially in mathematics, students frequently need help with data literacy. To overcome these obstacles, they must improve their thinking skills. This study aims to enhance the quality of mathematics instruction, especially students' thinking skills, by implementing Lesson Study to develop sharing and jumping tasks. This qualitative descriptive research was conducted at one of the senior high schools and universities in Manokwari, West Papua, with their students as the research subject. The lesson study was implemented in two cycles through instruction at school and lectures at the university. The lesson study consists of three processes: plan, do, and see. The hypothetical learning trajectory was developed at the lesson design stage and then tested at the teaching-learning stage. The open class results were then analyzed during the reflection step to redesign the sharing and jumping tasks. The success of the research was determined through field notes taken from teachers and students. The frequency distribution table is used as the topic matter. The findings revealed that students' thinking skills developed, indicating they were more interested than in the previous teaching and learning process. The learning process was more exciting and enhanced conceptual comprehension. Because learning was communicable, students were more satisfied. They were more engaged and required further thought to comprehend the topic matter. Also, they produce a variety of responses, which is only feasible if they are capable of critical thought. © The Author(s) 2023.

ABSTRACT

The pandemic era had an enormous influence on teaching and learning activities in all regions of the world. For urban areas that generally already have a variety of adequate facilities and infrastructure, it still has an impact on their learning activities. However, this outbreak in rural areas with limitations in teaching and learning activities has its own story. Therefore, this study aims to identify the problems encountered and the solutions implemented by teachers, lecturers, and students in the implementation of mathematics learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in one of the rural areas in Indonesia, namely Manokwari, West Papua. Teachers, students, and lecturers were all purposefully selected as research subjects for the study, which was conducted using qualitative research techniques. Data was collected through structured interviews using the WhatsApp application, then analyzed to construct narratives, tables, and images. The results showed two main problems in implementing the online mathematics learning system in West Papua, namely accessibility to Information Communications Technology (ICT) equipment and the ability to use ICT equipment in carrying out mathematics learning online. The results also show that online mathematics learning is necessary to require government involvement in planning, implementing, and evaluating online mathematics learning systems. Yet, blended learning is a learning system that is suitable to be applied in West Papua during this pandemic situation. © Via Medica, ISSN 2545-0425.
